Brexit: potential timelines

The decision of the UK to vote to leave the EU or Brexit was taken on June 23. The timeline to give effect to such an exit starts with the triggering of Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty. So far there has been a robust debate on when this should happen with inevitable implications for when a deal might be concluded. One Brexit timetable suggests towards the end of 2018 with the caution that there are many reasons why such a timeline could be delayed.
