IFRS 9 has been a focus for many financial institutions for the last 2-3 years. However it is just in recent months, that corporate entities have begun to focus on the challenges that it will bring for them. IFRS 9 is effective for accounting periods commencing 1 January 2018, with the impact on transition to be disclosed in 31 December 2017 financial statements.
KPMG will hold a roundtable breakfast session where Ian Nelson, the partner leading our IFRS 9 engagements and Gergely Eros and Stewart Hagell from KPMG London Corporate Treasury Services UK will provide insights on the key implications and challenges of IFRS 9 for corporate entities. The experience, to date, is generally that the challenges and opportunities have been underestimated.
