KPMG is proud to sponsor the Business & Finance Irish Business Awards 2016 which took place at the Convention Centre in Dublin on 15 December.
Now in its 42nd year, the awards programme is Ireland's longest running and most prestigious business awards and has honoured many of Ireland's leading businesses and business people including JP McManus, Michael Smurfit, Tony Ryan, Dermot Desmond, Liam O'Mahony, Willie Walsh, Peter Sutherland, and T.K. Whitaker.
Managing Partner of KPMG Shaun Murphy presented the Company of the Year Award to Icon and the Business Person of the Year Award to Dómhnal Slattery of Avolon.
This year, President of Ireland Michael D. Higgins was honoured with the Inaugural TK Whitaker Award for Outstanding Contribution to Public Life.
Bob Geldof received the Outstanding Contribution to Ireland Award. Susan Whelan, CEO of Leicester City Football Club received the Global Irish Outstanding Achievement in Business Award and FDI Company of the Year was presented to Coca Cola by Martin Shanahan, CEO of IDA Ireland.
Speaking at this year's awards, Shaun Murphy, Managing Partner of KPMG said: “These awards celebrate excellence in business leadership and in more recent years, they celebrate outstanding leadership in civil society. They also celebrate the ability to stay the course, to manage through change and to grow and expand.”
