We play an important and supportive role contributing to the well being of our surrounding communities in our various office locations. KPMG people work with individuals and community groups to help make these areas a better place in which to live.
Amongst our flagship projects is Project Bright to get our people more involved in Corporate Citizenship initiatives. Each October we invite submissions from our employees to come up with bright ideas to help address local social and environmental issues with the winning team travelling to Africa to participate in a unique project. Winning projects include maths training with disadvantaged children in local schools, teaching entrepreneurial skills to teenagers in adjacent communities and music programmes with disabled children in the Central Remedial Clinic Clontarf.
We work with Jobcare helping the long term unemployed gain the confidence, skills and knowledge to find and keep meaningful employment and have developed a Get Cents programme with the North Wall Community Training Centre to provide educational courses on basic personal financial management for early school leavers.
KPMG supports the Business in the Community Ready for Work initiative - helping individuals move from homelessness into employment or training. We provide work experience and training facilities as part of our commitment to this project. KPMG also supports the Business in the Community Ireland EPIC initiative helping assist those from immigrant communities secure work.
Our Old Folks' Christmas Party is a long standing event at our Stokes Place offices. Each December we welcome over 100 of our older neighbours to our premises for a seasonal party with over 40 KPMG people volunteering to help, serve, chat and dance with our guests on the night.
KPMG also does a significant amount of pro-bono and lo-bono work valued at over €500,000 per annum in support of organisations ranging from Focus Ireland, IFSC Trust, Free Legal Aid Centre and Social Entrepreneurs Ireland.
We support Boardmatch by helping strengthen boards and management committees in the not-for-profit sector. KPMG people work with organisations as diverse as The North Wall Community Training Centre, Womens Aid, Ruhama and Chrysalis.
