The application period to the KICC competition has ended. Thank you for your applications!

Discover the fast paced world of casework and test your ability to develop innovative, real-world business solutions through this challenging and exciting learning experience. You will compete with talented students from around the world, gaining valuable insight into what it’s like to work with clients.

First, you’ll have to apply to Finland’s two day final on January with a video. If you progress to the top of Finland’s national case competition, you’ll find yourself on an all-expenses-paid trip to beautiful Lisbon, Portugal for the 2017 international final.

Explore your capabilities

This event will challenge and inspire you, testing your team’s ability to analyze and respond to realistic business scenarios.

In 2016 international finals, the cases used in the competition focused on the hotel and amusement park industries – both growing sectors in Dubai. Each round of the competition increased in complexity – challenging the students to continuously expand their thinking and learn from the feedback they were given. Teams were evaluated on their levels of insight, innovation and enthusiasm. This year the economical subjects will have a twist of Big Data and Fin Tech!

During each stage of the competition, your team will be given a detailed case study to consider – and the rest is up to you. For each round, you and three teammates have to:

  • review the dossier you've been given
  • identify and analyze key business issues
  • develop a compelling set of recommendations
  • prepare an engaging presentation for the judges.

When you emerge from your team headquarters, you will present your ideas to a panel of experienced KPMG firms’ partners and leaders. The judges will listen to your presentation and ask challenging questions, playing the role of the client.

You will be held to the same standards of excellence that we expect from KPMG professionals. And if you have the innovative and agile thinking our judges are looking for, you’ll advance through the next rounds of competition.

Who can participate?

To participate in KICC, you don’t need to be studying a particular subject. But to succeed, you should have the following:

  • an interest in business and a passion for excellence
  • strong leadership and task management skills
  • composure under pressure
  • the ability to absorb a range of information quickly
  • talent for thinking through ideas and presenting strategic solutions
  • the determination to make the most of this experience
  • economic studies/background and some know how about big data and fin tech might be a benefit
