The KPMG Innovation and Collaboration Challenge (KICC) is your chance to solve some of the world’s biggest challenges. Embark on a journey of learning, explore new innovations and experience what it’s like to be a professional business consultant.

During KICC, you’ll work in teams of four to explore global issues, tackle big business briefs and have an opportunity to present your innovative ideas to business leaders.

And if that wasn’t enough, the most successful teams will join us at the grand final in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 2019, where you’ll have the opportunity to work on a new client challenge and compete against the best of the best to become the global champions for 2019!

What will KICC offer you?

KICC will give you the following opportunities:

  • practice and enhance your problem solving and presentation skills
  • apply your knowledge and skills in practice through working on real cases
  • continue working with similar issues at KPMG
  • make your way to Buenos Aires, Argentina – all costs covered!

How to apply?

Please note that you can submit your application only between the 5th and 30th of November 2018.

Only one team will ultimately represent Finland and Estonia, but the application process is slightly different for the Finnish and Estonian teams. Please read the instructions carefully. 

Round 1: Submit you team idea

The challenge we ask you to innovate and collaborate on for the KICC 2019 is:

What innovations would help to empower people in disadvantaged communities in your country to take control of their own health and well-being?

To answer this question you can choose any client of your choice: a for profit company, a not for profit organisation, or a government. You should think about a business concept / case / model that you would propose to this client. It might include, but is not limited to a new process, technology or service.

Key is that it would innovate, disrupt or transform their normal way of working.

Register and submit your team idea here between the 5th and 30th of November 2018. The best team submissions will go forward to the national (Finland & Estonia) competition.

The Finnish and Estonian teams use the same form for submitting their ideas, but please send CVs of your team members to the recruitment email in your own country.

Round 2: Country National Competition (Finland & Estonia)

Through an innovation workshop, we will support you to develop and enhance your idea before you present it in front of a the jury consisting of KPMG Partners. Ultimately, only one team will be selected to represent Finland & Estonia.


Round 3: International Finals

You could be on your way to Buenos Aires, Argentina! This 4-day competition will give you the chance to learn, explore, network and competeagainst the best students around the world.

Are you eligible to apply?

We want the best thinkers in Finland & Estonia to apply for KICC.

You don’t need to be studying a particular subject. But to succeed, you should have the following:

  • interest in business and a passion for excellence
  • strong leadership and project management skills
  • ability to work under pressure
  • ability to absorb new information quickly
  • ability to think in analytic and innovative terms
  • ability to present strategic solutions
  • determination to make the most of this experience


In addition, you and your team need to check the following points if you want to take part:

  1. I (and my team) am currently enrolled in a full-time Undergraduate/Bachelor’s degree
    program with at least 1 year remaining of my studies.
  2. I have a team of 4 students with at least 1 male and 1 female on my team.
