The modern network of KPMG member firms was created in 1987 when PMI (Peat Marwick International) and KMG (Klynveld Main Goerdeler) merged.

KPMG's initials stand for the founding fathers of the organisation.

Following a series of expansions and mergers, the modern network of member firms was created in 1987 when accounting firms PMI (Peat Marwick International) and KMG (Klynveld Main Goerdeler) merged. 

In Estonia we started our operations in 1992

KPMG started its operations in the Baltics in 1992 when Peeter Riit, Andres Root and Vello Volt together with KPMG in Finland established KPMG Estonia. Initially a company with the staff of less than ten offering only audit services expanded rapidly, and within a few years tax, legal and advisory services were also offered.
