KPMG Acor Tax is proud to announce promotions of a new Partner Martin Henri Leth With and Directors Birgitte Tandrup, Casper Bjerregaard Eskildsen and Thomas Iversen.
Martin (to the left in the picture above) has more than eleven years of experience working with indirect taxes (mainly VAT and special payroll taxes) in both Denmark and Dubai. He has extensive experience with advising multinational clients and midsized companies, including shipping, transportation and logistics, energy, financial services and travel agencies and has focus on optimising clients' VAT position as well as identifying and covering potential VAT exposures.
Martin's great experience covers e.g. the following areas:;
‒ Identifying potential VAT possibilities and exposures using with data analytics
‒ VAT issues related to cross-border activities
‒ International VAT structuring
‒ VAT handling in ERP systems, processes and controls
‒ Assisting clients in reclaiming VAT and payroll tax from the tax authorities, e.g. “mødemoms” and the “ATP-complex”.
Martin has a proactive approach to clients and targets and is the main driver in the market for midsized companies. Further, he is the day-to-day head of the indirect tax group located in Hellerup.
Prior to joining KPMG Acor Tax, Birgitte (middle to the right in the picture above) worked as Tax Manager in KPMG Corporate Tax, Financial Services and as Tax Advisor in KPMG's Individuals Tax department. Birgitte also has nine years of industry experience from working as a tax advisor/senior tax advisor in Danske Bank Group Tax.
Birgitte has broad experience in providing advice on Danish and international corporation tax issues with special focus on tax structuring, investments and tax issues in financial institutions. Birgitte also provides advice on implementation and compliance related to the FATCA/ OECD Common Standard Reporting rules based on her extensive experience from her time with Danske Bank. During that period, Birgitte participated in working groups in the European Banking Federation and the Danish Bankers’ Association.
Casper (middle to the left in the picture above) has worked with VAT and special payroll tax for more than eight years. Casper has extensive experience with providing VAT and payroll tax advice primarily to the financial sector and suppliers of this. Before joining the advisory business, Casper achieved a PhD for his thesis “VAT and structural neutrality” at Aarhus University.
In his career, Casper has primarily served a number of different financial institutions in Denmark where his focus has been (and still is) to optimise the clients’ indirect tax position, to identify and to cover indirect tax exposures. Casper is also the author of a wide range of different articles regarding VAT published in both national and international tax journals. Furthermore, he is an external lecturer and mentor at Copenhagen Business School (CBS).
In KPMG Acor Tax, Casper is the main driver of the FS VAT group along with other dedicated FS VAT and Tax colleagues.
Thomas (to the right in the picture above) has more than ten years of experience advising international corporations. Thomas specialises in M&A tax, including corporate and international taxation as well as general investment structuring, corporate tax restructuring and the setting-up of financing structures.
Prior to joining KPMG Acor Tax in June 2015, Thomas worked with another Big 4 company. In the period from 2010 to 2012, Thomas was responsible for the Scandinavian Tax Desk in New York.
Over the years, Thomas has advised a wide range of Danish and international businesses and private equity funds in connection with Danish and international business transfers, including in particular on M&A tax projects, structuring and financing set-up. Thomas has, based on his work in the US, significant hands-on experience working with investment structures that involves the US.
