KPMG in South Africa
As an Advocate of the High Court and a member of the Department of Justice, Petrus was a founding member of the Office for Serious Economic offences. Petrus joined KPMG in 1993 to establish the Forensic Division on a national basis. Since 2008, Petrus has been the chairman of Forensic for South Africa and Africa. Appointed to the International Forensic Steering Group in 1997 and has been the Global Leader of KPMG Forensic since Sept 2011. Prior to that he was the Regional Chairman of KPMG EMA Forensic from 2002-2007. He served as Managing Director of Financial Advisory Services in KPMG in South Africa from 2004-2008. He is also the Director of KPMG Capital and member of the Global Investment Committee, as well as a Member of the KPMG Advisory Executive responsible for Advisory in Cape Town. Petrus has experience with a range of major clients from government departments to financial institutions and investment in the area of fraud risk management.
