The forum entitled “Implementing National Healthcare Systems (NHS): Global Experiences and Key Success Factors” took place at Hilton Hotel, on October 11th, 2017.
The forum was organized and delivered with great success by KPMG Healthcare Group in Cyprus and delved into lessons learnt from KPMG’s international experience on Healthcare System restructuring and how these may apply in Cyprus’ quest for a National Health Insurance System.
Following an opening statement from Minister of Health Dr George Pamporidis, the event’s keynote speakers Sir David Nicholson, former CEO of the English NHS and Senior Advisor on Universal Healthcare to KPMG’s Global Health Practice and Mr. Jonty Roland, Program Director, KPMG Centre for Universal Health Coverage (UHC) shared their insights and lessons learned having worked in large scale healthcare transformation and UHC implementation projects across the globe. The key stakeholders participated at a panel discussion exploring how these insights can be applied towards an effective and holistic Healthcare system for Cyprus.
Mr. Iacovos Ghalanos, Board Member and Head of Healthcare Advisory Services, KPMG in Cyprus said that “the fundamental changes expected to the public healthcare system in Cyprus, which need to be based on best practices, if properly managed, pave the way towards substantially raising the quality of Cyprus’ national healthcare system and upgrade the models and pathways of care across the island”.
The forum’s participants demonstrated genuine interest over the developments and the regulations associated to Healthcare System restructuring.
