Michael Antoniades is the Chairman of KPMG in Cyprus. He started his career in 1990 as a trainee Chartered Accountant with KPMG Chartered Accountants, United Kingdom. In 1993 he was transferred to KPMG Nicosia and he became a Board Member in 1998. He has extensive experience in both internal and external auditing, local taxation and other attestation exercises in a wide range of industries, with specialisation in Oil and Gas (including Shipping), Financial Services (Banking and Insurance), Information Technology and retail, as well as the public sector. He held the Leading Auditor role in listing engagements of a number of Cyprus public companies in Cyprus and in a number of recognised Stock Exchanges around the world. His experience further extends in a number of advisory areas including but not limited to the establishment and implementation of Integrated Management Information systems, evaluation of divisional and divisional manager performance, company valuations and fair value estimations, Insurance Law (Solvency I and II) implementation, mergers, acquisitions and IFRS implementation. During his career at KPMG in Cyprus, he has created the Management Assurance Services department and he held the positions of Human Resource Manager, Quality Performance Liaison Partner, IFRS Liaison Partner, Head of Risk, Assistant Head of Audit and Assistant Partner in Charge of the Nicosia Office, for a number of years.

  • 2003: Former elected member of the Council of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus

  • 2003: He obtained initially a Private Pilot License. Today he holds an EASA Commercial Pilot License with Ratings: SEP(L), MEP(L), IR(A), PBN and FI(A)., in 2011 he received training in Germany and qualified as a Captain under EU OPS.
