KPMG Switzerland has appointed Silvan Jurt to the post of Sector Head Power & Utilities. In his new position, the economist and certified accountant will be responsible for all of KPMG’s market activities related to the electricity industry.
Silvan Jurt (38), holder of a Master of Arts degree and a Swiss certified accountant, is the new Sector Head Power & Utilities at KPMG Switzerland. He is succeeding Sean Peyer who has spent the past five years successfully building up and developing this vital sector. Sean Peyer will now focus on his leadership role in Transaction Services.
Silvan Jurt has been employed by KPMG since 2005, during which he also spent several months at the country firms in Australia and the USA. His many years of experience working with numerous companies in the electricity industry have made him an authority on the sector. Within the scope of his duties, he provided auditing services and support to several different clients on topics such as sustainability reporting, complex accounting matters and in other subject areas.
According to Silvan Jurt, “The energy sector is facing enormous political, regulatory, economic and technological challenges. I’m looking forward to actively participating in the transformation phase of an industry that plays such a major role in Switzerland.”
