KPMG is creating an entirely new client and working environment at its headquarters at Badenerstrasse 170/172, Zurich, which also offers space for further growth. The comprehensive remodeling project will last from spring 2019 to spring 2021. During this time, KPMG will temporarily reside in Zurich’s up-and-coming Binz neighborhood.
The way we work is changing constantly and, with it, our expectations of a modern workplace. To accommodate this shift, the firm’s Zurich headquarters at Badenerstrasse 170/172 will undergo comprehensive remodeling. “By 2021, this will be transformed into an entirely new, contemporary working environment for our clients and staff. There they will enjoy spacious, light-drenched rooms, welcoming meeting areas and lounges, flexible floor plans and a state-of-the art infrastructure,” says Stefan Pfister, CEO of KPMG Switzerland, in eager anticipation. “The renovated building will also offer us the space we need to continue our growth trajectory. We currently employ around 1,200 people in Zurich.”
The whole neighborhood has reason to celebrate: Going forward, this double building with its distinctive passageway, which was constructed in the rather stark concrete style so popular in the 1980s, will boast a very elegant exterior design. It will also be brought up to date in terms of energy efficiency and fitted with both energy-saving materials and its own solar panels.
During the two-year remodeling phase, between spring 2019 and spring 2021, KPMG will take up temporary residence in Zurich’s up-and-coming Binz neighborhood. Jörg Walker, COO of KPMG Switzerland, explained their choice saying, “The attractive new ‘Tic Tric Trac’ building on Räffelstrasse already meets many of our requirements for our workplace of the future.”
