KPMG has appointed Thomas Affolter as the new head of the Central Switzerland market region. He will be succeeding Frank Lampert who is not only responsible for the Tax function in Central Switzerland but whose focus is also on managing and further expanding KPMG’s private client business across all of Switzerland.
The auditing and consulting firm KPMG has appointed Thomas Affolter (48), Swiss certified accountant and business economist HWV, as the new head of the Central Switzerland market region as of 1 April 2016. Not only will he be at the helm of both the Zug and Lucerne offices, but he will also handle the management and coordination of KPMG’s full range of market-oriented services in Central Switzerland.
Thomas Affolter has been working for KPMG since 1994, a period which includes a two-year stint at KPMG in Seattle, USA. In his capacity as a certified accountant in Zug and Lucerne, he advises numerous enterprises in Central Switzerland with both national and international business activities. In KPMG’s “Commodities and Energy Trading” sector, this Lucerne native is also responsible for industry-specific matters pertaining to trading companies hailing from all corners of German-speaking Switzerland. Additionally, Thomas Affolter is actively involved in the work of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce of Central Switzerland and teaches international accounting at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts.
Frank Lampert, who has established a very successful track record heading up the Central Switzerland market region, will remain in charge of the Tax function in the Central Switzerland region. He will also forge ahead with his efforts to expand the “Top Executives” center of excellence and the “Equity-based Compensation” sector within the scope of KPMG’s private client business which is already under his leadership. Moreover, as a member of the Board of Directors of the Zug Chamber of Economy and its representative on the Board of Directors of the Zurich Chamber of Commerce, Frank Lampert will continue to make an active contribution toward strengthening Central Switzerland’s economy.
