The goal of this biannual publication is to inform about the Geneva real estate investment market and thus to increase transparency in the market.
During the first half of 2017, the city of Geneva accounted for 45% of all transactions for a total invested amount of CHF 356 million. With nearly 211 million, the Right Bank attracted 31% of the capital versus 15% for the West Left Bank and 3% for the East Left Bank, i.e. respectively CHF 100 million and CHF 17 million.
Private investors were the most active investors with an investment volume of around CHF 194 million, this corresponds to 28% of the total investments. Pension funds invested nearly CHF 131 million, i.e. 19% of the invested volume. With more than 127 million invested, two banks have also been present in the market. Insurance companies were relatively calm with close to CHF 109 million invested.
