Prior to joining KPMG in 2006, Reto Schumacher worked in international law firms. He has advised Swiss and foreign corporate clients on almost all aspects of business law. Particular engagements have included: mergers & acquisitions (including various due diligences for national and international clients, negotiations and supporting clients at signing and closing as well as national and cross border mergers), company law and contract law. He has been legal advisor of large joint venture and acquisitions projects with the involvement of various jurisdictions. At the interdisciplinary level, Reto Schumacher works intensively with advisors in tax, audit, transaction service, corporate finance and real estate, so he is fully acquainted with the relevant business relationships and interactions. As a local lead partner Reto is also the “Family Doctor” for all issues of his customers in the region Bern.
