Rainer Pfaffenzeller

Rainer Pfaffenzeller is Partner in the Financial Services department with focus on the Insurance Sector. He has extensive experience in providing audit and advisory services to global financial services institutions, with a decidedly strong focus on the insurance and reinsurance industries.

He managed Group Audits as well as Regulatory (Solvency II, FINMA) and Statutory audits for large international Primary Insurance and Reinsurance Groups. In addition, he led several advisory projects such as IFRS 17/9 implementation, ICS optimization or accounting conversion.

In his role as Audit Lead Partner, he gained deep knowledge in the audit of global insurance groups according to German & Swiss GAAP, IFRS, US GAAP as well as regulatory audits based on Solvency II and FINMA regulations.

From 2010 to 2012 he worked in the M&A advisory department of KPMG and led different international advisory projects with interdisciplinary teams, in particular sell-side/buy-side Due Diligences as well as restructuring projects or Pre Deal Analysis for globally acting insurance companies.
