Franziska Balsiger is Director of Regulatory & Compliance / Financial Services – a highly experienced team of KPMG for all regulatory aspects of the Swiss financial industry.
Franziska advises national and international clients on various regulatory and compliance topics. Her key topics are anti money laundering, client due diligence/on-boarding/remediation, outsourcing/data protection, market abuse, cross border business, cooperation and exchange of information with Swiss and foreign authorities. Franziska gained comprehensive experience in conducting internal investigations in the regulatory field and in complex enforcement proceedings.
Her main clients are regulated institutions like banks, securities dealer, insurance companies and investment schemes (based on the Federal Act on Collective Investment Schemes).
Franziska is an attorney-at-law with over 10 years of work experience in the fields of banking law, financial markets law and in white-collar crime. Before joining KPMG, Franziska worked at a leading corporate law firm in Zürich. As a secondee at FINMA, Franziska acquired in depth regulatory knowledge and insights in the practice of the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority. Besides that she gained international work experience in Asia (Singapore and Indonesia).
Franziska is a passive member of the Zurich Bar Association.
