Swiss CEOs clearly have strong views on what is needed to build sustainable businesses. They have a high level of confidence in economic prospects, a clear focus on innovation, and ambitious plans to ensure that headcounts and skills keep pace. But there is also a feeling that the next few years will be more critical for their industry than the previous half-century was.

These insights come from a study conducted by KPMG in March and April 2016 that surveyed more than 1,300 CEOs – including executives representing 10 of the world's largest companies. Fifty of the CEOs have businesses headquartered in Switzerland. The study aims to better understand CEOs' views regarding the forces and opportunities shaping the businesses they lead. A range of key industries is represented, including automotive, banking, infrastructure, insurance, investment management, life sciences, manufacturing, retail/consumer markets, technology, energy/utilities and telecommunications.
