KPMG acquires WORKshift

Calgary Economic Development has transitioned its WORKshift program to KPMG's People and Change practice.

KPMG's People and Change practice helps companies drive business value and achieve strategic goals through the optimization of both their people and workforce agenda. Our professionals help clients deal with impacts on people associated with changes to strategy, structure, processes and technology, while ensuring the required focus on change leadership and culture.

"At KPMG, we believe the workplace should reflect the unique and evolving needs of the organization, its culture and employees. We are proud to welcome WORKshift to KPMG Canada's People and Change Advisory Services family which reinforces our belief and commitment to assisting our clients in shaping innovative, forward-looking workplace environments that benefit from technology, digital advancements, organization design and strategic change readiness to enhance the employee experience and achieve organizational goals." Soula Courlas, Partner and National Lead of People and Change, KPMG in Canada.

"This is an exciting time for WORKshift. The combination of the WORKshift products and research with KPMG's deep professional experience will help accelerate the adoption of flexible work programs across the country. Further, this happens at a time when the Federal government has recommitted to making flexible work more accessible for Canadians." Robyn Bews, former Executive Director of WORKshift.

Calgary Economic Development started WORKshift in 2009 as a regional program and with the support of organizations like KPMG, expanded to become one of Canada's leading authorities on the benefits and implementation of flexible work programs for organizations of all sizes.

Over the past 8 years, we supported private sector organizations, and municipal and provincial governments and developed the WORKshift Playbook – a step by step guide to help companies implement and measure flexible work environments. In 2016, WORKshift released research that demonstrates organizations who embraced flexible work environments have more engaged and productive employees.

KPMG will assume the assets of WORKshift – the products, research and brand; however, the staff will not be joining KPMG. If you are interested in learning more about WORKshift and how it can help support your business objectives, contact Soula Courlas.
