Nova Scotia Finance Minister Karen Casey reintroduced the province’s 2017 budget on September 26, 2017.
The budget anticipates a bigger surplus of $131.6 million (previously forecast at $25.9 million) for the 2017-2018 fiscal year, $28.1 million for 2018-2019 and $46 million for 2019-2020. Nova Scotia did not pass its April 27, 2017 budget before its provincial election on May 30, 2017. Now that the Liberal party has been re-elected with a majority, Nova Scotia has reintroduced its earlier spring 2017 budget as a fall 2017 budget, with some adjustments.
