Rick Whitley is a Senior Partner in the Calgary office. Rick was the Managing Partner of the Calgary office of KPMG in Canada from 2012 through 2017. During that period Rick also served on KPMG Canada's Management Committee and Markets Committee. In his role as OMP, Rick was responsible for the oversight of the growth and client relationships of the Calgary office. In addition, Rick is responsible for leading the involvement of the Calgary office and its 500 people in support of the Calgary professional and not-for-profit communities.
Rick was the Partner in charge of KPMG’s Tax practice in Calgary from 2004 to 2012 with responsibility for the Corporate, International, Personal Financial Planning and Sales and Local Tax segments of the office and has been with KPMG since 1984. Prior to joining KPMG in Calgary, he was a senior Tax partner in the International Corporate Tax practice of KPMG’s Toronto office. He was elected to partnership in 1995. Rick has over 30 years of broad experience in imparting tax advice and running global multidisciplinary tax projects. He is a Lead tax Partner for several significant Canadian multinational clients, including large integrated oil and gas companies, Power and Utility companies and Energy Services companies. He provides strategic advice to a broad range of clients to assist in managing their Canadian and Non-Canadian federal and provincial/State corporate income taxes.
