Thang is a tax lawyer who specializes in all aspects of tax controversy management. His unique end-to-end experience in tax allows him to devise solutions for his clients from different angles, with different processes, using different approaches, to best suit their needs.
In respect of income taxes, sales taxes, tax incentive programs, and customs duties, Thang helps clients protect their interests in the course of audits, objections, and appeals; obtain relief through administrative/equitable/judicial proceedings; find recovery and refund opportunities; and defend their interests against governmental demands and collections efforts.
Thang represents clients before the provincial superior courts, the Canadian International Trade Tribunal, the Tax Court of Canada, the Federal Court, the Federal Court of Appeal, and the Supreme Court of Canada.
Thang also teaches courses on tax law, tax administration, and tax litigation at Osgoode Hall Law School, and speaks on tax topics at national and regional conferences and seminars.
