Walter is the Regional Managing Partner for the Greater Vancouver Area. Prior to his current role, Walter served as the Partner-in-Charge of Tax Services for KPMG's Greater Vancouver offices.

He has more than 25 years of experience providing tax advice to a wide variety of valued clients, including public and private businesses, institutional investors and private equity groups. Throughout his career, Walter’s industry focus has been in the real estate sector, advising private developers, public REITs and unlisted funds and syndications, specializing in structuring domestic and cross-border investments involving corporate structures, trust vehicles and partnership or joint venture arrangements. Walter has acted as tax lead for many successful security offerings, mergers & acquisitions, private equity investments, and other structured transactions. Walter is regularly called upon by clients and industry groups to speak and advise on technical and policy tax issues. Walter is a former Governor of the Canadian Tax Foundation, has served on a subcommittee of the CICA’s Tax Policy Committee, is a current member of REALpac’s Capital Markets Committee and has been referenced in recent International Tax Review’s World Tax Reports on leading Canadian tax advisors. Walter is also involved in the community and until recently was Chair of the Finance Committee for UNICEF Canada.
