Lucy currently serves as the GTA Tax Business Unit Leader for KPMG in Canada. With over 25 years of experience in the industry, she oversees KPMG’s Tax practices in the GTA along with having primary responsibility for public trust, clients, market growth and people development.
Prior to her current role, Lucy led KPMG’s Financial Services Tax Practice in Canada as well as represented Canada globally on KPMG’s Financial Services Steering Committee. She successfully integrated the Canadian and global practices leading to significant growth on global accounts and built a world class team with leading financial services knowledge in the areas of banking, insurance and asset management. Lucy has deep industry experience dealing with tax planning opportunities, issues and risks that arise in corporate reorganization, mergers, acquisitions and divestitures of insurance businesses and corporations. She also has significant experience in the areas of tax dispute resolution and corporate tax planning and compliance services.
Lucy has shared her extensive knowledge at a number of speaking engagements for various insurance industry conferences, including the annual conference of the Canadian Insurance Accountants Association; the Canadian Life & Health Insurance Association; the CRA Insurance Forum and KPMG’s annual Insurance Issues Seminar. She has also co-authored and lectured at The Life Insurance Institute of Canada’s KPMG course on insurance taxation.
Lucy is dedicated to youth advocacy, serving as the Treasurer on the Board of Directors for BOOST Child Abuse Prevention & Intervention, an organization committed to eliminating abuse and violence in the lives of children, youth and their families.
