Michael is the Chief Economist for KPMG in Canada’s Global Transfer Pricing Services practice and is the leader of the Calgary Transfer Pricing practice. Since 2000, he has worked in both Canada and the United States helping clients navigate the complex and challenging world of transfer pricing in a continually changing global tax environment. Michael brings to his clients a depth of technical yet practical specialization from planning to compliance to dispute resolution across a range of industries including oil and gas, mining, technology, services and consumer products. Michael has worked on a wide range of transfer pricing transactions, including production and distribution of commodities, energy trading, intangible property licensing, the migration of intangible property, asset leasing, engineering and technical services, financial transactions, tangible goods pricing, and a variety of intra-group service transactions. Michael has been named as an Expert Transfer Pricing Advisor in the bi-annual 2011, 2013, and 2015 Guide to the World’s Leading Transfer Pricing Advisors, published by the Euromoney Legal Media.
