David is a Partner with KPMG Tax Services, and is our National Leader, Transformative Tax Advisory and Value Chain Management (VCM) service offering in Canada. David is helping our clients in designing and implementing tax planning strategies that integrate transfer pricing, international tax and business operations planning strategies. He also assists in the context of many complex transfer pricing disputes.

He has over 20 years of transfer pricing and international tax experience gained both in the industry where he was formerly Head of tax for a large private entertainment company and in the consulting environment. He has served clients across a wide range of industries such as financial services, telecommunications, transportation and engineering and construction.

David is also a partner with KPMG Law LLP, where he often assists clients in transfer pricing disputes with the Canada Revenue Agency and in the context of more sensitive transfer pricing projects such as transfer pricing risk assessments where clients are seeking transfer pricing legal advice. 

Professional and Industry Experience

David has extensive experience in developing tax planning strategies that integrate transfer pricing, international tax and operational strategies, which provide companies with sustainable financial and operational benefits. He has assisted many clients with foreign expansion plans including the centralization of supply chain functions, the design of tax efficient business operating models and local country tax planning. 

David was Head of Tax at a large privately held company in the entertainment industry, where he has also gained valuable experience in developing and implementing tax efficient business operating models with an industry focus and considerations. 

David has been lecturing and presenting on a number of transfer pricing, international tax and VCM topics with many organizations including the Canadian Tax Foundation and the International Bureau of Fiscal Documentation, and has been lecturing for more than 10 years as part of the Advanced Tax Treaty course given at the Canada Revenue Agency in Tax Services Offices across the country.
