Corey Fotheringham is a Partner, National Leader of Strategy & Operations, Forensic Technology and CyberCrime, and CTO of National Advisory at KPMG in Canada. Corey has over 25 years of investigative and forensic experience. Prior to joining KPMG, Corey was the National Leader of Computer Forensic and eDiscovery Services (“Cybercrime”) and National Financial Advisory Chief of Technology at Deloitte, where he provided litigation support in complex business disputes for leading international and domestic law firms, corporations and financial institutions. Corey was also the Canadian Forensic leader of Deloitte’s India Joint Venture.
In addition, Corey spent approximately 11.5 years with the Ontario Provincial Police force specifically within the Electronic Crime Sector as a Detective for the last eight years. While in this role, Corey participated in the preparation, planning, development and coordination of investigations that dealt with computer technology as an element. This included the execution of search warrants and managing electronic search and seizure procedures. Corey has assisted investigators from OPP Bureaus, Regions, municipal police services, government ministries and agencies with forensic seizure of electronic data from various electronic media storage devices including hard drives, CD-ROMs, server farms and magnetic tape units. Corey has also testified as an expert witness in computer forensics for numerous high- profile trials across Ontario in both Provincial and Superior Courts.
