Annette Beshwaty

Annette joined KPMG in 1995. She has over 30 years of experience in providing services in indirect taxes. Prior to joining KPMG, Annette spent twelve years working for VIA Rail Canada, eight of those years spent in their commodity tax department. She was responsible for the elaboration of policies and procedures with respect to GST/HST, QST, PST and other taxes.

Annette is a Partner for the Indirect Tax group of KPMG's Montreal office where she has been working for the past 20 years. She possesses a vast expertise in the development of policies and procedures relating to GST/HST, QST, PST and other taxes. Annette is involved in many industries. She has successfully negotiated tax audits, assessments, notice of objections, refund claims as well many requests for interpretation. She advises clients so they can obtain substantial tax refunds. Annette has written and lectured on various topics relating to GST/HST and QST. More specifically, she teaches the course on transportation services and exports which is part of the Fiscal and Financial Planning Association’s (APFF) training program. Annette is a frequent speaker at the APFF’s Indirect Tax Symposium as well as the Tax Executives Institute conference (TEI). In addition, she participates in national KPMG committees targeting the application of indirect taxes in the financial service industry as well as in the public sector. Annette is also a board member of the Board of Directors of the Fiscal and Financial Planning Association.
