KPMG is a Founding Partner of the MaRS Centre for Impact Investing (CII), a national social finance hub and project incubator designed to increase the awareness and effectiveness of social finance, and tackle social and environmental problems in Canada. CII's strategic initiatives include the creation of a Social Venture Exchange (SVX).
KPMG believes that social finance – the use of capital to support organizations that yield both a social and a financial return – is a powerful emerging market with the potential to develop businesses and ideas to tackle pressing local issues.
The firm is working with other Founding Partners, including RBC, TMX Group, The Rockefeller Foundation, The Hamilton Community Foundation and The J.W. McConnell Family Foundation, to help CII achieve its objectives.
