The IFRS 9 workshop will enable participants to have a detailed understanding of the new standard. The impairment section is the most challenging area with respect to the transition from IAS 39 to IFRS 9 compliance for financial institutions, both local and international. The quantitative modelling requirements under IFRS 9 can be technically challenging and complex; therefore, the scope of the material will reflect a realistic level of mathematical knowledge that target audience will possess.
The workshop will include illustrative examples and several rounds of exercises for participants to complete in order for the workshop to be as practical and useful as possible. The end result is that participants will be able to drive the transition and implementation process accordingly. Topics to include:
