Mergers & Acquisitions sector has the worst quarter in the last seven years; semester has recorded a fall of 5%.
Mergers and Acquisitions Research, done quarterly by KPMG in Brazil, with different information such as transaction ranking by sector, geographical transaction distribution, share of main country investors in cross border transactions, annual evolution per number of transactions made previously and other comparisons.
Summing 380 transactions completed throughout the first six months of this year, thenumber of mergers and acquisitions for the period registered a fall of 5%, compared tothe last year’s same period.
According to the research, in the period between April and June, 170 transactions wererecorded, what makes this, the worst second quarter since 2009, becoming speciallybelow the average numbers, which was determinant for the whole semester to closewith a fall. Besides that, if compared to the same period of the year before, the secondquarter presented a fall of almost 20%.
