'How-To’ series: “Building an effective Cyber Programme” KPMG in Bermuda is pleased to announce and invite you to the first of this year’s cyber security training events. Our first session this year will provide a brief update on Q1 cyber trends, focus on the attributes of an effective cyber security programme and close with considerations of local and international legislation and regulation.

This session is designed to be of equal benefit to internal audit and governance stakeholders, in addition to cyber programme owners.

Moving beyond compliance
The traditional focus on security compliance does not ensure organisations are best prepared for potential security breaches. Frameworks provide a better basis for risk assessment to thoroughly and consistently assess security challenges and determine gaps.

The briefing will cover:

  • Updates on the cyber threat landscape in 2016, including recent breach events;
  • Effective cyber programme attributes; moving beyond compliance to a risk-based strategy;
  • Effective cyber programme elements; what does “good” look like in 2016;
  • An overview of emerging frameworks and how these are flowing through to regulation and inspection programmes; and
  • Cyber, Privacy and PIPA. How to prepare for the new legislation.

Please register by contacting Barbara Grainge.
