Audit, Tax and Advisory firm, KPMG in Bahrain, is hosting a seminar to shed light on the impact of value-added tax (VAT) from a technology and IT perspective. The half-day event will take place on Monday, 30 October 2017, at the Gulf Hotel under the theme ““VAT compliance through technology”. It is an ideal platform for Information Technology executives in the private sector to learn from KPMG’s tax experts about the anticipated compliance reporting requirements, and how tailored solutions can help companies to prepare their digital infrastructure to administer VAT.

When VAT is introduced in Bahrain in mid-2018 (as currently expected), businesses within an annual supplies threshold of USD100,000 (BD 37,700) will need to administer, record, assess and report VAT obligations as well as VAT refund entitlements for their business transactions inside and outside of Bahrain, and submit them to the competent authority (to be set up) within specific timeframes. Having an it enabled VAT control framework would makes this process more efficient, minimizes errors, optimizes resources and ensure on-going VAT compliance.
