KPMG has participated in the initiative “The Future is Code”, organized by the Digital National Alliance and supported by the Ministry of Education and Science in which IT specialists meet with students from schools nationwide. The goal is to spark interest in programming, design and technology among them by sharing professional stories and personal experience.

Our two lecturers were Nikola Nyagolov and Kalin Kirilov, from KPMG’s Performance & Technology practice, who visited Secondary Schools of Nature Sciences and Mathematics in Botevgrad on 18 June 2015 and in Gabrovo on 29 June 2015. They talked about “Internet of things” – one of the hottest technology trends.

Nikola presented how software and communication technologies are embedded into most areas of life – from homes and vehicles to clothes and fridges. He demonstrated the tremendous opportunities modern technologies offer to improve our lives by utilizing connected “things” that communicate with each other and provide services and content.

Kalin grabbed the attention with an attractive video of an autonomous drone and shared insights about the exciting world of programming.

The students caught a glimpse of the immense developments in technology, as well as how physics and mathematics theory can be turned into practical hardware and software engineering allowing them to see the real-life examples of how IT is shaping our future.
