Nigeria: Moving businesses to online platform

The Federal Ministry of Interior on 16 July 2018 announced that its online processing of applications (initially scheduled to begin in May 2018) will now begin 3 September 2018.

This extension of time is intended to afford companies sufficient time to migrate to the online platform. Applicants will be required to upload certain documents including: 

  • Certificates of incorporation
  • Expatriate quota (EQ) approval(s)
  • Business permits
  • Other key information about the organization, such as its address, its status, and contact details
  • Expatriate monthly returns

The online portal is intended to serve as a centralized and interactive database for all applications.
