KPMG is taking over Ghent-based IT company DEVtalk/AXelia. It is the KPMG Belgium Advisory Department's first acquisition. DEVtalk/AXelia specializes in services for Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Operations, an ERP application for medium and large businesses. This strategic acquisition allows KPMG to strengthen its position as a business integrator of Microsoft technology on the Belgian market and expand its digital transformation and Data & Analytics services to its customers.
KPMG Belgium is acquiring DEVtalk/AXelia in two stages. First, DEVtalk/AXelia will become a KPMG Advisory subsidiary. In the next step – before the end of the fiscal year – the company will be fully integrated into KPMG Advisory Belgium's Technology Advisory Department. DEVtalk/AXelia will be moving to the KPMG office at the Blue Towers site in Ghent.
With the arrival of 17 consultants specializing in Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Operations applications, the KPMG Technology Advisory Department's number of staff will increase to 130 consultants.
Anthony Van de Ven, Head of Technology Transformations:
"The expansion and strengthening of our Technology Advisory Department allows us to meet our customers' digital transformation needs and requests even better. We expect strong synergies thanks to KPMG's process knowledge, industry expertise and wider experience with compliance, security and data privacy and DEVtalk/AXelia's functional and technical expertise. This is certainly the case for Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), a capacity KPMG has developed significantly over the past two years."
The merger will also result in the optimization of Human Resource Management (HRM) and Client Resource Management (CRM).
DEVtalk/AXelia also contributes new expertise in other Microsoft applications, such as SharePoint, PowerBI, Office 365 and Azure, Microsoft's flexible Cloud platform. Knowledge of these technologies allows KPMG to support an integrated ecosystem around Dynamics 365 and offer even more extensive ERP/CRM solutions. KPMG and Microsoft have been in a worldwide alliance to provide solutions and services together since 2015.
Bart Meyer, Head of Technology Risk Management and Data & Analytics:
"The acquisition allows us to deepen this strategic alliance with Microsoft even further, particularly to support our customers in their digital transformation process and the development of their D&A capacities on top of existing solutions or as an integrated whole within Dynamics 365."
KPMG will take over all DEVtalk/AXelia operations and contracts to support and expand them further. Stephan Claes, Head of Technology Advisory: "It is our intention to offer a new, extended range of services to the current customers of both DEVtalk/AXelia and KPMG."
The consultants in the new team will work together very effectively. Kurt Van den Bussche, co-owner of DEVtalk until recently, will be Director Delivery Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Operations. Benjamin De Brabander will be at the helm of Enterprise Solutions. Van den Bussche is already looking forward to the collaboration:
"In practice, we have been working closely with KPMG on several projects for more than a year. During all that time, we have noticed that we are a tight-knit team with complementary skills and a remarkably good cultural fit." Claes agrees: "DEVtalk hugely appreciates the consultants' individual passion for their field of expertise. It is something we have in common and it will be the basis for this excellent cooperation," he concludes.
