Practical information

In a series of workshops, the specialists of Meijburg & Co Tax Consultants (the Netherlands) and KPMG Accountants and Legal Consultants (Belgium) will discuss current financial topics.

Workshops

Do you know where your employees are carrying out their work activities? How do enterprises start up a cafeteria plan in the Netherlands and Belgium?

We will bring you up to date on all relevant developments in the areas of wage and income tax and social security. We will thoroughly cover international developments and the consequences to corporate income tax when employees are transnationally active.

We will also cover the cafeteria plan. Companies are increasingly offering plans allowing employees to compile their own remuneration package (within certain limits). Also new is that companies may now offer a cafeteria plan to all employees in Belgium and the Netherlands simultaneously. Which elements can be included in a Belgian/Dutch cafeteria plan? We will discuss the most important points and provide you with some practical tips. We will also present a demo of the flexible reward tool developed by KPMG using a few concrete examples. We will also cover the cafeteria plan. Corporate Tax News:

This summer, the Belgian federal government announced the outlines for the long-awaited reform of the corporate income tax. An agreement was reached on a significant reduction of the tariff, but it also contained much more. This includes a whole host of measures intended as budgetary 'compensation' for the reduction of the corporate income tax. Over time, more details will be revealed and it will become clearer who the reform's winners and losers will be. In this workshop, we will cover the impact that these measures will have on your enterprise using concrete examples. We will also discuss the 2018 Dutch Tax Plan as well as the proposals that have ensued from the Anti-Tax Avoidance Guideline. Here, we will focus on the measures that limit the interest deduction. We will also address a number of current topics arising from the BEPS action points.

News Concerning the DMS and High-Net-Worth Individuals:

We'd like to bring you up to date on the UBO registry in Belgium and the Netherlands. We will also catch you up on the following topics: the introduction of the Belgian tax on securities portfolios, the introduction of the Belgian withholding tax on future capital reductions, the buyout of self-administered pensions by residents of Belgium and the latest developments concerning the Cayman tax.

VAT Update:

In this workshop, we will cover some recent VAT developments. These include the new Belgian regulations concerning property rentals, the Dutch regulations concerning costly services and the European regulations for vouchers. We will also cover the impact of recent jurisprudence on, for example, intra-community transactions, services relating to the export of goods and holding companies.

Estate Planning:

We would like to catch you up on the reforms in the Belgian inheritance law and the new matrimonial property regimes in the Netherlands as of January 1, 2018. A number of case studies will clarify the opportunities offered by the reforms. We will also address the fiscal business succession regulations in Belgium and the Netherlands and examine how to design a good tax plan when emigrating or re-emigrating to or from the Netherlands.
