On 26 January, KPMG Azerbaijan hosted a workshop for Pasha Group of Companies on new accounting standard for financial instruments - International Financial Reporting Standard 9 (IFRS 9). The workshop was led by KPMG Head of Financial Risk Management group, Dr. Michael Kunisch and Senior Managers - Dr. Xaver Schlagberger and Farhad Aliyev.
Participants discussed main concepts of IFRS 9 covering classification & measurement and new impairment model. During this interactive program, KPMG and representatives of PASHA Group of Companies discussed key challenges arising from implementation of IFRS 9 with particular focus on new impairment model. In addition, detailed discussion held around target picture on main IFRS 9 elements with specific examples and cases relevant to Group. At the end of the workshop, KPMG and Group developed roadmap for implementation of the new standard, which will be applied by PASHA Group effective from 1 January 2018.
