Over the past 4 years, Shaun and Betka Tyacke have been working to grow and expand their business Fresh In Fresh Out.

In 2016 they set up a 220 acre farm in Victoria for the purpose of growing and securing their supply of asparagus.

In 2017 they secured top supermarket retailers to mass distribute their produce and now they harvest and supply over one million bunches of asparagus to Australian homes. Their hope is to double their business in 2019.

Business challenges

Given the growth anticipated for Fresh In Fresh Out, their on-premises legacy system did not allow their business to scale.

Specific challenges they faced were around:

  • their inability to email invoices to customers easily so they were manually faxing them, which was costly and timely
  • their inability to get a weekly sales report from their current system so they had to manually calculate the report
  • their overall visibility of their business performance and inventory.

The solution

Fresh In Fresh Out worked with KPMG to implement Financials for Office 365 (now known as Wiise), a scalable Microsoft Dynamics 365 cloud ERP to replace their legacy system. Financials for Office 365 offered a low-cost solution that could be implemented in a matter of weeks for their small business. FIFO now seamlessly manage their finances, sales, purchases, inventory, and reporting all from the one system.

The project

Core user and business owner Betka Tyacke said: “Financials for Office 365 saves me 10 hours per week on data entry, invoicing, and reporting. For a time-poor business owner, I can now get more done in a day. We have digitised our business by moving to the cloud and going paperless. We now have far more insights into our business at our fingertips because of the reporting capability and I have full transparency over my accounts.”
