Building future leaders

KPMG Arrilla Indigenous Services have engaged with the GO Foundation to deliver a research report exploring the correlation between further education and better outcomes for Indigenous students.

Key findings from the report include:

  • Indigenous Australians who have completed further education have a higher rate of employment.
  • Real and perceived cost are a main barrier for entry for Indigenous students to pursue further education.
  • Roles models and cultural identity play as powerful drivers of enrolments in further education.
  • Indigenous students who complete further education of any type are more likely to have the same outcomes as non-Indigenous Australians.

In line with our Corporate Citizenship focus on Indigenous Australia, KPMG is proud to support the release of this report, which underlines the power of education to transform lives and the benefits of lifelong learning. These principles underpin another of our key focus areas, on equipping those from disadvantaged backgrounds to advance their potential and develop the right Skills For The Future.
