The 2016 Internet of Things Alliance Australia (IoTAA) inaugural State of the Nation event was held at KPMG Sydney on 6 September, setting the stage for the activation of the KPMG-IoTAA-Barangaroo LoRaWAN gateway.
The Internet of Things Alliance Australia (IoTAA) Inaugural State of the Nation Stakeholder Workshop, brought together leading IoT stakeholders from industry, government, academia and the consumer sector to take a close look at the emerging presence of IoT in Australia. Participants explored the global context, recent progress and current initiatives – and why we must act now to harness opportunities.
The event also provided the stage where the Federal Minister for Communications and the Arts, Senator the Hon Mitch Fifield officially switched on the new KPMG-IoTAA-Barangaroo LoRaWAN gateway (PDF 80KB) installed on the roof of KPMG Sydney. Up to 1000 devices within a 3-5km radius can now be connected to this free, community network to aid the development and prototyping of IoT applications.
