It is expected that Significant Investor Visa (SIV) application process will be effectively suspended after 23 April 2015.

It is understood that the ability of state and territory governments to trigger invitation letters under the current complying investment framework for subclass 188 Significant Investor Visas will end on that date.

This introduces a limited window of opportunity for people hoping to make an application under the current investment framework.

For those with applications in preparation who are not able to meet this timetable, they may need to consider an investment strategy under the still-to-be-finalised framework scheduled to take effect from 1 July.
