KPMG, in conjunction with the Finance and Treasury Association, run a series of treasury management courses nationally around Australia. The Treasury Management course provides hands-on training to executives and managers in either large or small, private and public sector organisations – particularly accountants, finance managers, internal auditors, treasury officers, managers and senior management who need to supervise treasury functions.

The three-day course facilitates intensive training in key aspects of financial risk management, instrument valuation, dealing with AASB139, AASB9 and treasury controls, ensuring its status as a unique training opportunity.

This course will assist participants to:

  • identify and develop key strategies for treasury management (i.e. the management of financial risk including foreign exchange and interest rate risks)
  • understand the application and valuation of financial instruments (participants will be provided with example pricing spreadsheets which will allow them to input variables and observe the impact on prices)
  • become familiar with the practical requirements of the accounting standards AASB139 and AASB9
  • understand cash and liquidity management
  • understand funding alternatives in capital markets and bank debt markets
  • apply the principles learnt in a half day case study
  • network with other finance and treasury practitioners
  • receive an update on the current conditions in capital markets and bank debt markets.
