Partner in Charge, Shared Services & Outsourcing
Growing KPMG's national shared services and outsourcing advisory team is a core motivation for Michael Smart, as he strives to find new and exciting opportunities for clients and the team.
Another aspect that energises Michael is working on introducing new products and offerings to the Australian market such as services around Robotics Process Automation innovations or vendor management.
Michael has over 20 years of experience leading complex sourcing-related engagements across the full sourcing lifecycle. This includes strategies, provider selection and evaluation, reviews, transitions and ongoing outsourcing management. Locally Michael has worked with many of the ASX Top 200 companies.
Michael is passionate about helping clients to operate globally, and draws on his time living and working in Asia to engage with different ways of approaching business.
Prior to KPMG, Michael was the Asia Pacific leader of Gartner Consulting's Sourcing Advisory practice for seven years.
As a father of two, he is busy outside of work with family activities. Tennis and golf keep him fit, while visits to his wife’s homeland, the UK, are always on the agenda.
