Partner in Charge, Financial Risk Management
Ian joined KPMG in 1990 and has spent over 10 years working for three global banking clients in various leadership roles. Having seen some of the major financial crises up close he appreciates the value of effective and efficient risk management. Ian is Partner in Charge of KPMG's Financial Risk Management practice based in KPMG’s Sydney office. He comes to the position with considerable expertise in driving large scale, complex initiatives including acquisitions, business restructures and major systems projects around the globe. His work has taken him to the United States, Europe and Asia as well as Australia. Some of Ian's transformation initiatives have spanned several years. "Everyone can be energised around something that lasts three months but it’s not easy to keep momentum when you get into the third, fourth, fifth year." Ian is father of three young children. As a result he travels less these days. "It's important to be flexible." He completed the Tour de Cure Signature Tour, cycling from Adelaide to Melbourne to raise money for cancer research.
