Partner and Asia Pacific Head of Retail
The changing face of Australia’s retail sector is a source of both inspiration and challenge for George Svinos. After years as a CFO for two national retailers, he joined KPMG in 1997 to share his expertise with clients. “I travel internationally to find and bring the best global practices in retail back to Australia,” he says.
Ecommerce innovations, the globalisation of retail brands and diverse economic factors are all areas that he assists clients to navigate. George provides financial advisory services, strategic evaluations and due diligence services. He also focuses on acquisitions, divestments and business review engagements.
George’s client base spans supermarkets, department stores, discount department chains, ecommerce operations, petroleum outlets, and convenience, hardware, book, music, clothing, footwear and fast food stores. He has experience advising fast moving consumer goods businesses and also franchises and retail telecommunications businesses.
His internationally focused role as Asia Pacific Head of Retail has seen him consult to companies across New Zealand, USA, China, Hong Kong (SAR), Japan, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore and Malaysia.
On the weekends, George enjoys keeping fit with gym, spending time with his three children and working on his hobby farm.
