Partner, Internal Audit Risk & Control Services
Caron is a Partner within the Risk Strategy and Transformation team responsible for KPMG’s governance service line. She is also responsible for the Mining Risk Management group nationally.
In 2007, Caron rejoined KPMG after working for five years in senior finance and company secretarial roles with private and publically listed entities. She brought back to KPMG commercial experience, adding to her past experience in external audit, internal audit and risk advisory gained in South Africa and Australia.
Caron's purpose statement is defined as 'helping businesses bridge any gaps they may have that are stopping them from meeting their objectives.' With this in mind, Caron works with clients of all sizes and at all stages in their governance journeys which gives her an appreciation for the need for scalable processes and frameworks. Because of this experience Caron is regularly called on to lecture at universities as well as for various professional bodies. Further, Caron loves spending time in boardrooms providing professional development training to board members and management.
Caron feels very at home wearing a hard hat, after cutting her teeth on clients in the energy and natural resources sector. Her current range of clients now cover all sectors, giving Caron a broad range of experience for her clients to draw on.
In early 2017 she became an accredited Dynamic Risk Assessment practitioner, which gives Caron access to KPMG’s revolutionary risk management tool.
