Ken is driven by a desire to instil an innovation culture within KPMG, and to help clients address disruption in all its forms that are impacting their businesses to ensure they remain competitive and relevant. “KPMG has never been as active as we are now in innovation,” he says. “We have moved the dial to encourage people to innovate and think in a different way. We are working with a wide range of clients from government to corporates as they address disruption.” Ken joined KPMG in 1998 in the UK, moving to Australia in 1999 and was admitted to the Partnership in 2002. He became National Managing Partner, Brand & Innovation in 2015. “It doesn’t matter which industry you are in, you are either facing a form of disruption or have an opportunity to be disruptive,” he says.
Ken has led Audit and Advisory teams servicing many of Australia’s leading companies in media, telecommunications and industrial markets. Ken’s client experience covers tech startups through to ASX50 companies. “Day-to-day I am most proud of our Dynamic Audit program and how we have brought innovation to life within our audit teams to drive greater efficiency and Audit quality,” he says. Ken’s recent leadership roles have included Partner in Charge of Sydney’s Corporate Audit group and Chairman of KPMG’s Audit Quality Committee.
Hailing from Scotland, Ken enjoys playing soccer, travelling and is kept busy driving his three children to their sport and other activities.
