National Partner in Charge, Corporates
On his trajectory to becoming National Partner in Charge, Corporates, Angus established a few principles that have stood him in good stead with major clients over the years. “Building genuine relationships with clients is essential. I’ve worked with – and learnt from – some incredible business leaders over the years. You need to be able to have open conversations and be an attentive listener so that people feel comfortable to open up and tell you what they think, positive and negative.”
Angus points out that one of the special things about KPMG is its collegiate way of working. When he wanted the input of a specialist based in Singapore, there was no problem bringing him onto the Australian team so the client got exactly what they needed. “It’s all part of KPMG’s essential DNA – putting the client first.”
While a natural leader, Angus is also a committed team player. Outside of the office, at 5:30am every day, he can be found training with his competitive rowing crew. Angus has also gone back to his roots and bought a working farm – so he understands exactly what it’s like sitting on the client side of the fence.
